I hate to admit it, but in keeping it real today is the first time we’ve ran since November 6th!  I know right!?  Life happens and it is what it is…. No need to pout and whine about it, just move on and enjoy that what we do is run TODAY!  Hola!

It was only 46 degrees, but since it was the first morning we’ve run in the cooler weather it might has well have been 26 degrees!  It was cold!  It was the 14 mph wind that was brutal.  It was all good though and definitely nice to get back on the road again.

I did warm up quickly though with the usual bowl of oatmeal.  Don’t hate!  I’m not sure when I’ve missed a day of oatmeal in years.  😉  This morning’s bowl had apples, cinnamon, a touch of brown sugar, crunchy peanut butter and of course, chia seeds.  Doesn’t get any better than that.

While I may have not been running regularly I’ve still managed to get some cardio and strength workouts in several times a week.  I’ve grown to love working out with my weights probably as much as I love running.  What?!  And if you’re traveling a lot during the holiday season, here’s a great holiday travel workout for you using only your body weight as resistance and can be done pretty much anywhere you are.
