Planks are perfect for any fitness level and have so many variations all working to strengthen and stabilize all of the muscles of your core. Having a strong core lowers your risk of injury, can lessen back pain and create a strong posture.
To do a correct plank and with any plank variation make sure:
- your core is engaged (your belly button pressed into your spine)
- your back is straight
- your elbows are in line with your shoulders
