For the last few weeks, I can pretty much fill in that blank with a variety of titles:  run, walk, go to the beach, work, go straight to the baseball game from work, go to bed late after the baseball game to only get back up at 4:00 am the next morning to go back to work, do laundry, vacuum, try to keep to keep the house clean, shop for groceries (which hasn’t happened much at all lately), go for take-out (our only food option-re read the prior), and the list goes on–you get the idea.

And obviously, my blog has suffered.  I know!  I’m so guilty and ashamed!  And because I have so much I really want to blog about and I have gotten so behind, I’m feeling abit overwhelmed, so I keep putting it off!  But, I have coffee in hand and I’m ready to somewhat catch up.  Thanks for staying with me.  🙂

First and foremost, I have to address the devastation that our neighbors in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham are currently experiencing.  I honestly can’t wrap my head around what seems to resemble a war zone or third world country right now.  We have so many friends and family in those areas and I’m burdened to think of what they are dealing with….including the parents who frantically wait to hear from or search for their college children.  Augh……sickening.  I told someone yesterday that I’ve had to step back from watching the videos and news media for a while; my brain and my heart needs a break, but I can’t imagine what those are feeling who physically and emotionally can’t step away from it.  Please pray for them.

Moving on for now, I’ve recently fallen in love with Greek Yogurt!  It’s really a serious love affair as I’m eating 1-3 bowls a day!   I especially love topping it with fresh fruit.  It’s lower in cholesterol, sugar and calories and has double the protein!  Yay!  I’ve tried several brands and Dannon is my favorite so far.  There are a couple of other brands I want to try, so I’ll let you know about that.

I’ve also ran my first 5K and will update you on that soon.  It was a small race — <100 runners/walkers and was perfect for me to start with and learn from.  I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I finished 3rd in my age group for women.  I’ve wondered though if there were only three of us in that age group, but for now, I’ll bask in my bliss of ignorance and savor the moment.

Until next time!
