Wow!  I’m still here!  I’ve just been wrapped up in some serious long weekend craziness busy-ness and I’ve loved every minute of it!  You know there are those times when you’re super busy and therefore super stressed?  This weekend was super busy minus the super stress which made it super fun!

Here is how it all went down.

Friday night.  Family celebration of my girl’s 16th birthday!  In other words, 20 or so people in my house, very noisy, hard to talk over each other, opening presents, kids running throughout, guitar playing, and of course, eating.

Saturday morning.  Went for a run with my sister {in law}…in the rain.  In other words, lots of laughing, my toes getting all squishy from the water and us acting like total goobers.

Came home, showered, put my pj’s back on and ate a bowl of homemade granola with soy milk, blueberries and Chia Seeds for breakfast.  (Trust me, the Chia Seeds deserve a post of their own; I’ll talk about those later-fabulous!)

Saturday night.  Shelby participated in the Miss LHS pageant at her school (and won 10th grade Maid).  In other words, spray tanning, fingernail polishing, make-up’ing, hair-do’ing, then putting a garbage bag over the head ’cause it was pouring down raining.

Monday.  Joseph’s last, first baseball game of his Senior year.  In other words, pack the ice chest, pack the snack bag, forget the sandwich meat, somebody go back and get the sandwich meat, stop by Walmart for more drinks, don’t forget the ice-packs, dust off the bag chairs, bring a blanket, ’cause it’s windy and cold out, try not to cry and take lots of pictures so I won’t forget this day.

Whew!  I’m worn out!

How was your long weekend?  Was it relaxing or crazy like mine?

  1. Sounds like a fabulous weekend! From here on out mine will all be filled with baseball so I loved your savoring the first game! I get the “try not to cry” all too well! I can’t even imagine that senior year coming up . . .

  2. It was good! Tons of fun and in order to cope with the whole Senior year issue, I’m just gonna deny it’s taking place. 😉
