I think I’ve mentioned before that I’m terrible with post titles and this post is no exception. I have several things I want to share with you and trying to come up with a title that would cover it all….well…..I gave up. 🙂
But here’s a bit of
useless information random thoughts and happenings that’s been on my mind lately.
Baseball season is in full swing 🙂 and takes up most of our afternoons and Saturdays. So far my boy has had a great pitching season (he’s pitched three games and three shut-outs) and I hope it continues for him.
With baseball season, there’s obviously not much room for supper each night, much less anything healthy. There are a few ways I try to
do the best I can with manage this: crock pot meals, one pot meals like spaghetti and soups, and packing my own lunch. I can’t remember when I’ve eaten from the park concession stand because I always, always pack my own food and snack items. There are times when we’re at the park for 4-5 hours in the evening and all day on Saturday and doing this has been essential at keeping me from the hamburgers, candy bars and sodas.
This past Saturday’s game was actually cancelled due to rain and the hubs and I took the opportunity to go out on a date. We both had a hankering for BBQ so the obvious choice was The Shed. If you’ve never had the chance to eat there, stop what you’re doing, find the nearest Shed and hop in your car, catch a plane…whatever you need to do to get there. It’s the best BBQ I’ve eaten and the atmosphere is just as perfect, too. The Shed has also been featured on Food Network’s Diners Drive-ins and Dives. Boo ya! It’s that good!
A few products I’m loving right now:
At Jessica’s coaxing, I bought a new, professional hairdryer. I made my choice easy and went with the hairdryer she uses-the iTools Whisper Light and ahhhh…be still the pitter patter of my heart. I never would have believed that a hairdryer makes so much difference in how my hair feels and styles. It’s sooooo much softer, shinier and no frizz since using this hottie.
Another new product I’m new to is Philosophy’s Purity One Step Facial Cleanser. I’m always leery when buying facial cleansers because they have a tendency to dry my face out more than it already is. Well, this one is just the opposite. It offers a really fresh, clean, remove all my makeup feeling without the dryness. And it smells delicious.
And this is totally random, but definitely something worth mentioning and sharing with you. Another issue I battle with baseball season is keeping baseball pants clean. Before discovering Iron Out, there’s no telling how many jugs of bleach and stain remover I’ve used. But since discovering Iron Out Rust Remover, washing my boy’s white baseball pants and keeping them white has been easy. It’s really bizarre just how well this stuff cleans! I know I just called it a rust remover, but it has so many uses it’s crazy! While bleach will sometimes yellow your white laundry, this stuff gets them sparkling white. Add a cup or so of this to your laundry of whites and let soak for a while and you’ll be amazed, too. I buy mine at Wally-World in the plumbing section…yes, the plumbing section of the store.
A new blog series I’ve been considering is a Q&A Series. If you have any particular questions you’d like to pose or ask, I’m thinking of beginning a new series where you can ask anything about anything you’d like more info on or something random you simply want to know and I’ll write a complete blog post on answering your questions. What ya think??
Hope your week is off to a beautiful, sun-shining start! Happy Monday!
