For the first time since I’ve really been serious about working out, I’ve experienced a genuine lack of motivation and maybe a mild burn out. Not so much burn out where I’ve just wanted to quit all together, but a lack of motivation resulting from fatigue and just out right over-doing it.
This past weekend we celebrated my sister in law’s wedding (Clark’s sis). She’s a year older than I am and her first marriage so needless to say we are all extremely excited for her and wanted her day to be extra special. It indeed was such a special and fun day and the wedding couldn’t have been more beautiful. But along with that, came a lot of work with it. By the end of the day I didn’t realize just how tired a body could be until I crashed in my bed that night!
And more so, leading up to the weeks prior, along with the typical wedding planning, I pushed myself hard with my work schedule, running and workout routine. And all of that equals exhaustion and my body screaming for rest! So for the last several days, I’ve been totally non motivated to do much of anything!
I’ve also been reading up on some of my favorite blogs and each encourage to listen to your body and rest when you need to….so that’s exactly what I’ve been doing!
Now…enough of my whining. Here are a couple of favs from the wedding.
Notice my girl will never be too old to sit in Mama’s lap. 🙂
Now moving on to the 15 chickens.
Remember the coop we inherited last Summer? Well one thing I haven’t mentioned is that we have recently adopted baby chickens! We have two different breeds -and don’t even ask me what kind-all I know is the cute ones and the ugly ones! hahaha!
Right now we have them in a large box with a heat lamp on them. They have to be checked several times a day to make sure the temperature is where it should be, as well as warming their water and filling it with necessary vitamins and such. Who knew baby chicks required so much care! We’ve had baby chicks before, but they had a Mama Hen to do all the work for us.
It has been such fun to have them and they are so funny to just sit and watch. They’ll eat from your hand, scratch all around their box and jump as high as they can trying to catch a bug that accidentally lands in the box.
There you have it! That’s been my life for the last week or so. Today my family is coming in and I’m looking forward to more resting and coffee drinking with them then we have a weekend full of baseball ahead!
What’s your weekend plans?
I know your photos of the wedding are going to be amazing. Can’t wait to see them. I willbe working all weekend. Miss you guys already. Love you.
Beautiful wedding pics! The bride’s eyes are sooo blue! They look very happy! 🙂
I started off the weekend completing my Week 5 day 3 of week of the Couch to 5k! I was all worried about whether I could jog for for 20 minutes straight – but I DID IT!! I was/am so stoked!! Can’t start the weekend any better than that!
That’s awesome Lois! Keep it up! It has been a beautiful weekend here, I hope it’s been for you, too!
