These are a few of my favorite things….
Sweet Potato Fries
Peel, slice or cube and drizzle with a little olive oil, s/p and cinnamon. Roast in the oven on 400 degrees for about 30 minutes.
They are honestly the crème de la crème, one in a million, the tops, da bomb, the bee’s knees, the cat’s meow, supernatural gift sent from Heaven above.
And almost as good as sweet potato fries are fresh, new bed linens. Remember the Black Friday shopping we did last week? Purchasing new bed sheets is my main objective, the holy grail one might say of all black friday sales…yeah, yeah, I know I should be buying Christmas gifts for other people and stuff like that, and I did….after I bought new bed sheets.
On sale. $19. 700 thread count. Boom. No, I didn’t hurt anyone in the stampede process. I have a strategy. It’s brilliant. It’s worked perfectly for the last two years in a row. And if I told you, I’d have to kill you.
And finally, on my list of indulgences right now is Pumpkin Oatmeal. I. Can’t. Get. Enough. I’ve been eating it everyday for breakfast now for like…well…weeks. It’s so warm and gooey and soul-satisfying. It also fills me up and I don’t get hungry at least for a couple of hours. 😉
Oats + a touch of brown sugar + cinnamon (did you notice I’ve mentioned cinnamon twice in this post?)…anyway…add pumpkin and walnuts and top with PB and chia seeds. Okay!? You get me? It’s addicting! And you’ll thank me for it later.
What are life’s little treasures you’re enjoying right now?
Samantha – sweet potato fries are the bomb & can season so many different ways!! I am a cinnamon lover too!!!
I want those sheets! 🙂
Those sheets are superfine and comfy!
I’m a HUGE fan of sweet potatoes…most any way you make ’em! I never get tired of them.
I’ve been thinking about making pumpkin oats but haven’t had them yet this year. I eat steel cut oats almost every day, with lots of variations…just started adding chia seeds. Expensive little buggers, but I’m thinking that they really help my energy level.
As for what I’ve been enjoying lately…well, for some reason I’m on a kick for yogurt & granola. I need to make my own granola though…that’s gotta be the best option compared to store bought.
Oh definitely add some pumpkin to your oats! It’s fabulous! I love yogurt and granola, too….not sure if you’ve seen it, but I also have a homemade granola recipe that I love love love! Here’s the link! Hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by! http://www.themoreirun.com/2011/08/01/homemade-granola/
