When I was first approached by the advertising agency about representing Nestle in a YouTube commercial, one of the main things they were so intrigued by were my workouts on the picnic table.  The theme of the ad was simple living and simple fitness and using whatever ‘equipment’ available to get healthy and fit.

Who knew that me working out on that picnic table would land me a commercial deal! ha!  I mean seriously, I just thought it was a great workout tool!

And in honor of the release of that docu-ad this week, here is one of the workouts I do using my picnic table!

Don’t be fooled into thinking you can’t get a great sweat sesh on with a workout session because Hola!  After a few rounds of this you’ll be breathing heavy and your heart will beracing!

A HIIT workout you can do on a picnic table!

This is considered a HIIT or High Intensity Interval Training workout where you’ll go all out for each exercise for a certain amount of time followed by a brief resting period.  You’re also not counting how many reps you can do, but rather doing each exercise correctly and maintaining correct form.  If you find your form is suffering, simply slow it down a bit and focus on the quality of each move.

For this workout, you’ll do each exercise for 20 seconds then rest for 10 seconds.  Do this for 5 rounds resting about 30 seconds between each round.
