Hey Y'all! I'm Sam! Im an RN, Certified Weight Loss Coach, Personal Trainer and self-proclaimed Nutrition Ninja. And to simply put it, I teach women over 40 how to lose weight and Keep It Off!
As a result, the women I work with:
- become healthier
- feel better
- fit back in to those clothes they've been saving in the back of the closet
- become more active and able do the things they've been wanting to do (but can't now because their weight or aches and pains won't allow it)
- and most importantly, they learn how NOT to revert back to their old habits after completing the program
I totally understand what it feels like to flounder with trying to "eat right" but never meeting the mark (if you know what I mean), feeling guilty if I ate the wrong thing, not being able to keep up with unrealistic expectations and incidentally feeling like a failure.....Oh the cycle.
But my journey to better health started for different reasons.
When I was 29 years old, married for only a few short years and two kids ages three and five calling me Mama, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. It was not my life that flashed before my eyes; it was theirs. It was school plays, graduations, weddings, grandchildren and a life of retirement, front porches and rocking chairs that motivated me to keep going. And at times, the ability to put one foot in front of the other.
And so with dial up internet booted, I began my journey to health. The problem is I had no idea what to do. Throughout my 30s I tried to "eat right" but always floundered, never really having a realistic plan I could stick to. Each new "thing" left me feeling guilty or afraid of 'eating the wrong thing' and when I couldn't keep up, feeling like a failure. Again.
It was only after turning 40 that I was able to break free from the bondage of my food obsession and gain clarity and direction on how to eat for better health and live without counting points, calories or crazy rules I could never keep.
I'm now on a mission to help and provide women who are shackled by their weight and poor health with a place to start and the tools they need to regain control of their weight and health, improve their quality of life and the knowledge they need to MAKE IT LAST FOREVER!

"Will I starve?"
No! It's just the opposite! My program teaches you to eat several times throughout the day to fuel your body, increase your energy and boost your metabolism. You'll learn it's not about eating less, but eating better!
"Will I know what to eat?
Yes! I provide you with your food list along with menu suggestions, recipes and other tips to take the guess work out of your week and what you're supposed to do."
- "How is this program different than so many other "diets" I've tried?"
A Healthy Life Academy is unlike any "diet" or program you've ever done where we'll focus on eating real, wholesome, nutrient-dense foods. HLA focuses more on fat loss instead of weight loss, all while losing inches and maintaining lean muscle, balancing your blood sugar and hormones from years of yo-yo dieting. It's a comprehensible educational program designed to fit you and your lifestyle. I tell my clients that my goal is to teach you how to live without me!
- "What is the pace of the course? Do I have lifetime access to all videos and materials?"
Honestly, if you wait for the perfect timing or the 'I'll start next Monday' routine to start, then most likely you'll never start (there will always be a reason to wait). While you can also self-pace yourself through the modules, each week is designed to build upon the last and progress you weekly to help get you closer to your goals by the end of the course.
- How much 1:1 support is involved? Will I be able to ask my individual questions?"
This program is extremely hands on and I'll be with you every step of the way! You will have the opportunity to get laser-focused coaching on every Sunday call. Additionally, I am extremely active inside the private Facebook group. This group is highly engaged and I interact in the group on a daily basis to connect and answer specific questions.

YES! If you’re craving unwavering support, you’re in the right place. The HLA Facebook Group will be your opportunity to engage with other women just like you, every single day. - "How often do you run the program?"
Due to the immense dedication and demand, this academy is only offered 1-2 times a year. You have lifetime access to all content, so at any point, you can go back and review lessons and videos.
