Why Cardio Is Important

In keeping with the American Heart Association Heart Month theme, I want to talk more about your heart health and why getting your heart rate up is important. Did you know that just like the other muscles in your body, your heart is a muscle and needs exercising, too. And also, just like your other muscles will atrophy when not used, your heart muscle will atrophy as well.

My Outdoor Workout at the Park

Don’t be fooled into thinking that you can only get a good workout at the gym or with $1000 + equipment. For something different and because I get bored easily, I recently took my workout outdoors without using my free weights that I’m used to using. And while my form is not the best (I’m working at improving it), each time I’ve exercised this way, I have gotten a really good workout and have definitely been sore the next morning!
